Lee Brimelow's session at FlashPDX was badass

Lee Brimelow came to the Portland Flash User Group meeting last night and gave us a session on the new Flash Platform.  It was super exciting!  I'd never been around so many Flash developers in one place in all my life.  It was weird, but cool.  He even gave away two copies of CS4 Master Suite!!! I didn't win, though.  Oh well.

I have never been to a session or user group meeting for Flash ever so this was a cool opportunity.  I even ran into a buddy who works over at Nemo Design.

Afterwards, we all went down to the Lucky Lab to have some drinks with Lee.  I feel like a total nerd for doing this but I got my picture taken with him.

Anyway, it was awesome.  Lee's a cool guy and Flash wouldn't be where it is without him.

Flash On The Beach Miami has been CANCELLED!!!  =(

Even after ticket prices dropped to $99 they still weren't able to sell enough tickets to put on the conference.

I may weep openly.

considering migrating to wordpress

Yes, I'm blogging about this.

It could have been a simple tweet, but I made a new years resolution to blog more.

Anyway, I just started making some pretty cool themes for Wordpress.  We have a few clients that we migrated over to it for the ease of upgrading and customizing layouts.  Also, it's super easy to turn it into a full-blown site CMS for a Flash platform site.

I'm currently running MangoBlog, which is a ColdFusion powered blog engine.  Yeah yeah, I know...  But the main reason I want to switch is because I don't want to fuss with the backend of this thing and numb my brain with CF.  Even though I like CF...  say what you will.

I do have a Wordpress installation up and running, but I haven't done anything with it yet.  Maybe this weekend if I get some time I will make it so.
